About Us

Holsworthy Preschool is a Community Based Preschool that has been serving the community since 1970. Holsworthy Preschool is licensed with Community Services for 40 children of the ages 3-5 years of age, 5 days per week.

We started as a playgroup in the early 1960's. We attracted State Government funding during the early 1970's and have continued as a preschool ever since. The preschool was initially located at Artillery Crescent and since 1995 we have been located at Lighthorse Parade.

All of our staff are University or Tafe qualified with over 60 years experience. Holsworthy Preschool aims to provide quality education and care for all children within our community. Through our qualified staff, we deliver a programme that supports and encourages the overall development and growth of the individual child.

We believe your child's school readiness programme starts on their first day in our centre to provide a solid platform for life long learning and education. We encourage children to make choices to aid their development, independence, and self confidence to assist social and emotional maturity. We promote the building of strong relationships with children, parents and the community to enable children the sense of belonging.

Balanced & Nutritious Diet

We provide a healthy lunch of a variety of sandwiches, fresh fruit/vegetables, juice, milk and water daily. Prepared by qualified staff that are trained in Nutrition for children/menu planning and safe food handling.

Classroom Sizes & Hours of Operation

• 2 classrooms of maximum of 40 children
• 3 - 5 year olds
• 9.00am to 3.30pm, Monday - Friday
• 1, 2, or 3 days per week attendance
• School terms, closed during school holidays
